Super Eagles Group C opponents Central Africa Republic and Cape Verde played 1-1 in their first game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday.
Julio Tavares put visiting Cape Verde 1-0 up in the 36th minute before Tresor Toropite equalised for Central Africa Republic on 53 minutes.
The game was played inside the Stade de la Reunification, Douala, Cameroon.
The draw puts Cape Verde temporarily in first position while Central Africa Republic are second.
The Eagles will open their campaign on Friday when they host Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
On Tuesday, September 7, the Eagles will be guests to Cape Verde on matchday two of the qualifiers.
