Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked by Tottenham after just four months in charge, the Premier League club confirmed on Monday morning.

The fans turned on Nuno following a dismal 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday and the decision was swiftly taken to end his reign.

Antonio Conte is the favourite to replace him with talks already under way and Spurs hopeful of appointing the ex-Chelsea manager imminently. The former Chelsea manager is expected to land in London from Italy on Monday and could even take charge of training as early as Tuesday.
